It's the first time in a long, long while that his head is totally clear - void of voices, void of thoughts, void of feelings. There is no Ansem threatening to take over his mind and heart, no insecurities, no guilt, no pain.

There is only the mission.

Only one thing that he has to do before returning to Lexaeus and Zexion and the ever-loving hands of Darkness.

He walks along the white, white halls of the castle, tainting it with shadows and only stops when he sees the fallen form of a puppet, the puppet, made with his powers and memories. The fake, that should have never existed in first place.

It's not part of his mission, but he doubts that anyone will scold him for taking out the trash, for making sure that that would not be able to screw up anything anymore, and he feels nothing as he drives the Soul Eater down, right in the center of its chest and watches as its eyes widen one last time before it returns to the Darkness, as all things should.

----

He lingers in the shadows as Sora confronts the traitor, as Marluxia gloats and laughs, so so confident that he has won already that he's getting careless, that it's easy for Riku to call out "You really think so?" when he insults the puppet and go after him, Soul Eater cutting sharply through the air as he attacks.

It's hardly enough to truly weaken the self-proclaimed lord of Castle Oblivion, but it's enough to drive him away from the true objective of his mission.

He doesn't say a word as Sora cries out his name, half surprised, half hopeful.

He doesn't say a word as the girl beside him gasps, eyes widening because she knows the truth, she knows he's the real thing.

He doesn't say a word as Marluxia realizes the same, realizes just how and why he is here.

He doesn't say a word as he puts a hand on the girl's shoulder and pulls the Darkness around them, letting it transport them back into the basement.

His mission is complete now.

What happens beyond that is not of interest to him.
