To all my international friends

I am writing to call upon your attention that right now my country is undergoing a unprecedented phase of democratic revolution.

I regret to say I am no expert in civil right movement or law, but I am a citizen in Taiwan who is witnessing this important setting of milestone.

I pray for your acknowledgement and awareness on this matter- Taiwan's Democracy Is At Stake, AND WE ARE FIGHTING.

Yesterday, in Taiwanese government's legislative bureau (Legislative Yuan), Cross-Strait Agreement on Trade in Services, a much controversial pact between Taiwan and China, was unjustly passed in a secretive and surreptitious manner by a member of KMT, the political party in charge.

In an extremely chaotic situation, the legislator sneaked to the corner of the room and pronounced the passing of the pact, and called the meeting adjourned.

Quoting from a CNN iReport on recap of what went down, "'We had no choice but to announce the conclusion of the meeting and send the pact to the plenary,as the legislative committee had failed to screen the agreement within the required time of three months,' told a press conference after the meeting. The whole proceeding was Illegal."

A highly controversial national pact that would affect the very future of Taiwanese people was easily (and illegally) passed in the so-called holy premises where policies are supposed to be established to benefit the people of its countries. What took place that very moment was no longer the discordance between different political parties but the government's intentional ignorance on people's welfare, and its harmful now even devastating allowance on the malicious action of destroying Taiwan's long-founded democratic establishments.

In fury and utter despair, citizens are taking actions demanding our rights.

From March 18th approximately 6 PM, almost 200 college students and NGO members gathered around the Legislative Yuan in protest of the unjust passing, and now have occupied the legislative hall in pursuit of letting their voices be heard by the government.

This has never before been seen in the Taiwanese history, and yet there has never been such a democracy-slaying situation that demanded it.

Citizens are preparing to stay until the Legislative Yuan commences another meeting declaring the invalidity of the passing of and agreeing to openly review the pact.

For the past year there have been numerous cases of civil right movements led by students and NGOs, all against the injustice of government's decisions and in pursuit of the fundamental rights.

People who marched in peace, protested in clear purposes, declared nothing else but facts have been reported by media as mobs and arrested by the police as law breakers, whereas the fact was this and only this:

We are fighting because there is injustice, and the fact that we're speaking out-loud is now even against the law.

Taiwan is in democracy-crisis.
WE ARE FIGHTING IN THIS CRITICAL MOMENT, AND WE NEED YOUR ATTENTION.

Thank you for reading, and I wish this can somehow spread the awareness of the crisis we're going through.
God Bless Taiwan.
