THE DANGAN ROLEPLAY DISNEY PARKS CHARACTER TRACKER CHALLENGE
ver. endgame

ARIEL
Ariel is easy enough to find. In WDW, she has her own meeting spot, Ariel's Grotto, in New Fantasyland, though the lines can get long. If you prefer human Ariel to mermaid Ariel, she sometimes appears in the princess character meals at Akershus or Cinderella's Royal Table, but good luck getting in -- reservations are always booked for ages by parents of small children. (CRT tends to require you to get up at ass o'clock to make phone reservations six months to the day in advance. #nope)
If you're going to California instead, you can easily find Ariel at Fantasy Faire or sometimes the Floral Entrance in DL and she has her own character meals at the Ariel's Grotto restaurant in DCA (breakfast and lunch -- the place is open for dinner but not as a character meal). Just... don't take the shrimp back to your hotel room to hoard.

ANNA & ELSA
The good news is that these two are easy to find and that you can almost always meet them together. The bad news? Even though WDW moved them from Prinsesse Plass to Princess Fairytale Hall last year, the wait's moved down from five hours to... three, on average. And that's in the off-season! Same with California -- you can find them at the Animation Academy in DCA these days, where they were moved to in December after they clogged up Fantasyland for a year. (Though who knows where they'll end up after "Frozen Fun" is over.) Fastpasses run out quickly, and even then, you'll still wait a long time. Wherever you happen to be, if you really want to meet the sisters, you'll need to plan your day around it -- and make it the first thing you do. If you just want to SEE them, they appear in a number of parades and shows.

NAVEEN
In WDW's Magic Kingdom, he sometimes appears at Tiana's meet & greet in the glade in Liberty Square, usually around 4 PM at her last meeting of the day. In Disneyland, he sometimes appears in New Orleans Square, but again, not as often as Tiana does. Thank you for being easy to find, Mr. Protagonist.

POOH
In addition to having his own character buffet at Magic Kingdom's Crystal Palace and also appearing occasionally in the character meals at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian, he'll appear around his own ride in Fantasyland and in the UK in Epcot by the Toy Soldier. In Disneyland, he often appears in Critter Country, again by his own ride.

DONALD
Though the specific KH version of Donald does not appear, Donald in general is all over the parks. In WDW, he regularly appears at Pete's Silly Sideshow in Fantasyland, in Mexico in World Showcase, and at Cretaceous Trail in Dinoland, and during Star Wars Weekends, he appears dressed up in Hollywood. He also has his own character meal at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom and appears in a few more at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary and Cape May at the Beach Club.
In Disneyland, he sometimes appears at the Floral Entrance or at the Goofy's Kitchen character meals in the Disneyland Hotel, and around Halloween, you can find him at Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree dressed up as a pumpkin. He shows up at Paradise Pier in DCA more regularly.

MALEFICENT
Maleficent only appears around Halloween. Sometimes she won't appear during MNSSHP in WDW or will only be in the show at the castle, though. You can find her at Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree during the same season if you're in Disneyland -- it's original flavour Mal, but that should be fine. If you're not going at Halloween and you just want to see her, she features heavily in Fantasmic!, seen at Hollywood in WDW and Frontierland in DL.

JACK
Jack only appears around Halloween or Christmas. He's more common, but is extremely popular. In MK, you can usually find him around City Hall or, during MVMCP around Christmas, in Storybook Circus. In Disneyland, both Halloween and Christmas have him by the Haunted Mansion, which gets a Christmas makeover from September to January that's themed to his movie.

GASTON
Despite featuring heavily in Disney Parks commercials, you can only find Gaston in the Magic Kingdom in New Fantasyland outside Gaston's Tavern. If you miss him, you can still take a photo of his statue of himself and enjoy a drink. (No actual booze, but the LeFou's Brew is similar to the Butterbeer at Universal but tastes a little more like apples.) You can't find him in California at present.

IRIDESSA
In contrast, Iridessa no longer appears in Florida. You can, however, find her in Pixie Hollow in Disneyland. They rotate the characters regularly and, with the introduction of Terence, Vidia, and Peri to the lineup, Dessa's less common than she used to be, but you still have a good chance. Don't lose your head over it.

OTHER PCS
Howl, Bill, and Maybeck have never appeared in the parks, though the latter's canon has a self-imposed challenge you can take like this one (challenge Inception?). Perry does not appear as a fur character either, but he features heavily in an interactive game at Epcot's World Showcase and in a P&F show at DCA. Sora has been retired for years.

MICKEY
If I listed every single place you could find him, it would take up a book. Common autograph locations in WDW are (MK) the Town Square Theatre, (Epcot) Character Spot, (DHS) the Magic of Animation as well as Pixar Place during Star Wars Weekends, (AK) the Adventurers' Outpost, and character meals at Chef Mickey's, Garden Grill, 'Ohana, Tusker House, and Mickey's Backyard Barbecue. Common autograph locations in DL are his house in Toontown, the Town Square, Big Thunder Jamboree during certain events, occasionally at the floral representation of his face, and in Carthay Circle at DCA.

MINNIE
You can find her at many of the same places in WDW, like Town Square (she shows up by the flag pole), Epcot's Character Spot, the Magic of Animation, Pixar Place during Star Wars Weekends, the Adventurers' Outpost, and character meals at Chef Mickey's and Mickey's Backyard Barbecue. She also regularly appears at Storybook Circus in the MK, some Downtown Disney hotels (either Buena Vista Palace or near the Hilton across the street), and in the Cape May character meal at the Beach Club. In Disneyland, she commonly shows up in all the same places as Mickey (only substitute her own house for his), and she'll very rarely be in Fantasy Faire dressed up because she wants to be a princess too. Minnie, you're already a queen. Come on.
OSWALD
Oswald appears in Carthay Circle at DCA, though unlike Mickey, who's there until 9 PM, he only hangs around until 5. (Sadly, he's not showing up in this year's Big Thunder Ranch rabbit convention, only every other rabbit in the park. Oh well.) He doesn't seem to appear in WDW outside of merch.
LOCATIONS
The Tea Room is a real place and exists at the Grand Floridian with the same menu. You don't have to stay there to eat there, so don't worry that the hotel's expensive! Similarly, you can see the ballroom at Be Our Guest in MK's Fantasyland. Partners (the statue) is at the hub of every MK-style park. You can also pop by Epcot to see the topiaries (in the front entrance plaza) and the hedge maze (in the UK pavilion -- go try it after you see Pooh).
