Hello everyone, my name is 高志峰. Today, I am going to talk about a speech titled 'My Simple Invention, Designed to Keep My Grandfather Safe.' The speaker is Kenneth Shinozuka, and in his speech, he explains how he solved a particular problem.

There are five points I'd like to make, as you can see on the slide.

To start with, I’d like to talk about the motivation.

His grandfather has Alzheimer's disease and often gets out of bed in the middle of the night, which is challenging for his aunt. So, how could he solve this problem?

One day, he saw his grandfather getting out of bed and suddenly had an idea. Here, we can see the diagram of the invention. The sensor detects pressure and sends a signal to the phone, allowing caregivers to monitor the patient’s movements.

OK, let’s move on to the next point: Challenges & Solutions. He encountered several problems during the invention process. For example, he needed an app to alert caregivers, so he taught himself Java and developed the app.

Finally, let’s look at the result. His invention helps protect Alzheimer's patients, and he plans to further improve his invention for those who don’t wear socks.
To summarize the speech, how did he solve the problems?
