He knows what sort of shit you pulled on dad, he knows what sort of shit you're STILL pulling, and he knows what kind of a shitbag you actually are. And can be. And continue to be. Part of him wants to get to know Kris better if only because he's 'Important' to the same people who are important to Gaius, but. At the same time, that age-old feeling of 'I really don't fucking trust you' runs wild and he can't help but to constantly be on high alert around him. PS you know too much about him for someone he isn't close to. Gaius on Jiyeon: Let's face it, he took you in first because he really thought you were just a cat. Ginger cat, given to him by his Bro Travis, why would he say no. Then it turned out that it could talk. What a fucking cool thing to have, a pet talking cat. Then you turned into a person. That was awkward. But it's not like something like that would stop him from caring about the guy, especially not after having had Marmalade around for almost two months before he poof-surprised into a ginger thief much like himself. Quite the opposite. Jiyeon is someone Gaius is even mildly protected over, more like a brother or relative as opposed to just 'a pet'. And if the cat-man ever did something stupid like run away or get himself hurt, he'd better be prepared for a shock if he doesn't think Gaius won't come after him to help or aid him. Loyalty's the biggest stupidity he has, lbr. Kaneki on Kristoph: At first, he'd decided to train Kristoph how to fight properly because he knew what it was like to be unable to defend yourself from others. The feeling of helplessness isn't something that's fun for ANYONE, and if it wasn't for someone helping him learn to fight, he'd have died by now. He expected an older, prissy-looking male to drop out or grow tired of learning something like hand-to-hand combat, but at this point, where Kristoph's even able to keep up with basic styles and counter attacks, it's become more of a good way to pass the time instead of just some chore he put upon himself. Kristoph reminds Kaneki a little of Banjo from back home, a will to be strong even if it's something that doesn't come easy. He doesn't TRUST the corkscrew blonde, but the fact that he's starting to actually enjoy his company is saying something. Here's just hoping Kaneki doesn't lose control during a fight and end up eating Kristoph or something in the heat of the moment. |
