(actual measurements may vary because i cannot visualize spatial things for the life of me) directly in view of the door is a bookcase with some half-filled shelves, mostly of manga and other books she's collected over the years. she has some of the popular shoujo stuff on there, as well as a couple volumes each of series that she remembers getting a reputation for their edge -- think, like, Future Diary, Deadman Wonderland, stuff like that. as far as western books go, she has a few books in a series that looks on the surface like some kind of noir cop drama but is absolutely urban fantasy, as well as a copy of House of Leaves (that she still hasn't finished) from that same edgy phase. all the books look pretty beaten up, even if they're all still intact. on top is the statue of the Erlkoenigin herself, which is probably the only thing Jen knows for a fact is in there. her bed, all blues and greens, is big enough for two but only if they really like cuddling. it too has seen better days, but it's not falling apart so she can do with the mattress being a little firmer than she'd like. the nightstand next to her bed is where she keeps her phone charger and a small lamp, plus some spare change that she hasn't bothered cleaning up yet. the dresser has every piece of clothing she's owned for the past, like, five years. some of the ones that are worse off have tiny holes in the front or larger ones under the arms, where the seams have given. it's possibly easy to tell why she prefers tank tops when she's lounging around the house. on top of the dresser, she stores her Big Bang Burger hat, apron (as well as black pants and a polo), which means her bedroom usually smells a little bit like burgers if she hasn't washed them in a while. posters are cheap enough, so wherever there's enough wall real estate, she's got one hanging up. and they're more modern, showing off a couple of the popular shoujo series of recent years as well as some of the more recognizably shounen ones as her tastes have shifted. her bike is propped up against the far wall, in the corner near her computer desk, and it's a little bit of a tight fit to get it out every time she has to go to work but she's too lazy to move the bookcase. the computer desk itself has her laptop on it, which is a few years old at this point but still gets the job done since she does most of her gaming on her phone anyway. it's got a few stickers on the back, faded with wear, and it's definitely password-protected, so sorry about that if Jen wanted to do any snooping. her blue button-down is hanging off the back of her chair, which is again nothing special but it reclines and it doesn't hurt to sit in so she's fine with it. the desk itself, where it doesn't have her laptop or the odd open notebook with scribblings about money, is an energy drink can graveyard. it seems to be the only place she's actually skimping with her cleanliness, since all her dirty clothes are gathered up in a hamper and the rug is vacuumed regularly and even her sheets are clean. |
