Exterior, Radiant Garden. Leon is approaching the door to Merlin's house. It's early morning; Leon yawns, birds tweet, bright sunlight streams over the top of the houses.

Leon pauses with his hand on the door. He looks over his shoulder at a couple of rag-tag kids that are coming his way.

Kids: Mr. Leon, Mr. Leon!!

View of the kids as they come to a stop. They're upset and talk frantically. They have a total refugee look; bare feet, mismatched clothing covered in patches, but not dirty. (Ideally, they should also have a chocobo or moogle or some other non-human with them)

Kid: Our roof collapsed last night! We need help fixing it!

Side view, pulled back. Leon stands with arms crossed, while the "head kid" points back the way they came. Leon looks mildly worried.

Leon: Is everyone okay?
Kid: Yeah, we're fine! But we need it fixed before the rains come!

Yuffie sticks her head out of the door to Merlin's house. She looks confused.

Yuffie: Is anyone else not getting water, or is it just us?

The dark outline of someone (Riku) shedding water appears from the side. Everyone else looks over in surprise.

Riku: Um...

Close-up of Riku. He's completely wet and bedraggled. His gaze is off to the side, like he's trying to avoid looking anyone in the eye.

Riku: There's a problem.

Top-down view of the Bailey/Restoration Site. Water gushes up out of a busted pipe and a few inches has gathered around the rubble.

The camera view is from the bottom, looking up, so everyone's expressions are visible. Yuffie is on her knees near the ledge, gripping it with both hands as she looks down. Her eyes are wide and she's yelling, like this is awesome and horrible at the same time. Leon stands behind her with Riku next to him. He's rubbing his forehead over his right eye and looking sideways at Riku. Riku has his head turned to the side, away from Leon. He appears to be blushing.

Yuffie: It's like a swimming pool down there! What happened?!
Leon: .... (<---hasn't even had coffee yet)
Riku: .....

Page Three:

3:1
Close-up of Leon. He's holding up one hand to illustrate his point. He is obviously resigned to the situation and just wants to get it taken care of. Professional mode.

Leon: We'll figure that out later. For now, let's get this fixed up before it gets any worse.

3:2
Switched view point, as if looking over Leon's shoulder. Yuffie is still crouching near the edge and Riku is standing next to her. Yuffie looks ready for anything and answers Leon cheerfully. (Riku is either doing a cocky "I'm a MAN and I can handle this" man-stance, or echoing Leon's stoic resignation. Not sure which.)

Leon: Got it?
Yuffie & Riku: GOT IT!

3:3 - 3:6
Sequence of "hard at work" pictures. Leon should be apparent in all of them and they switch between the water pipe problem and the roof problem, giving the impression Leon is trying to be everywhere at once. Yuffie, Riku, and Kairi appear randomly as his main helpers. Some ideas:
-Leon and Riku turning a giant faucet to turn off the water.
-Helping to move collapsed beams off of furniture.
-Digging ditches to drain the flood out of the Restoration Site.
-Patching up the busted pipe with sheets of metal.
-Carrying armloads of lumber.
Etc.

Page Four:

4:1
Top-down view. Leon is on the roof, in the middle of hammering in place some boards. He's lifted his head in surprise. At ground level, Aerith waves up at him, having called out to get his attention.

4:2
Leon and Aerith stand across from each other on the street. Leon has his arms crossed and looks worn out. Aerith extends one hand in a show of support.

Aerith: Leon, you've been at this all day! Let everyone else finish up. Go back to the headquarters and relax.
Leon: Good idea.

4:3
In the headquarters/Merlin's House. The view is from the back of Leon's head; his hair is frazzled and he seems to have his face in his hands. Across the room, Cid is pointing up at the maps hanging from the walls and shouting. (Yuffie is bouncing around singing nearby and Merlin is making things explode. Utter chaos).

Box: LATER
Cid: I'm fucking done with looking at these amateur pieces of shit, Leonhart! Do you hear me?
(Yuffie: o/~
Merlin: Oh my!)
Leon: *"Relax", she said.*

Leon is walking out through the front door, scowling. Behind him, Cid can be seen standing on a stool and holding fistfuls of the hanging map. He looks ready to have heart-attack.

Cid: Is this a fucking bedsheet?!
Leon: ...I'm going home. (<--- done with life)

Page Five:

5:1
-- 1) Either establishing shot of Leon walking down an empty street, on his way home, or 2) empty 'transition' panels to show that time has passed.

5:2

Leon shuts his front door behind him and start to shrug off his jacket. His eyes are closed and he's not paying attention to his surroundings.

Leon: I'm home.

5:3
View over the back of Leon's head. His place has a small kitchen/dining room/living room combo, sparsely decorated in miss-matched furniture. There aren't any knickknacks or signs that anyone actually lives there. A half-open door leads into another room. No one is around.

Room: EMPTY

Close up of Leon. Two memories pop up next to him; one is of a tiny Cloud waving a huge sword and chasing after a maniacally laughing Sephorith who appears to be flying away with his single wing; the other is a tiny Sora, waving a huge Keyblade and chasing after a giant heart. Leon sighs in disappointment.

Profile, Leon walks into the house with a sullen expression. Above his head is the day dream of some hot times; a naked Sora straddles a naked Cloud's lap, while an equally naked Leon approaches Sora and puts his hands on the boy's hips. (Image focuses on bodies, only showing faces from nose down.)

A giant "DENIED" is scrawled across the daydream.

Page Six:

6:1
Close-up profile of Leon. He has an "ah-ah!" moment, like he just remembered something.

Leon: !

Top-down view. Leon is on his hands and knees next to a really large bed. He's fishing something out from under it. The bed is unmade and there's probably a stuffed chocobo or papou-fruit half-buried in the blankets.

Leon: *Where did I put it?*

Leon pulls a box out from under the bed, focus on the box. You can see his legs, hands, and forearm, but not really his face. There's an utter mess under the rest of the bed, boxes and what not.

Leon: *Ah-ha!*

The opened box reveals a square device with a big Triangle button on it.

Side view, close-up. Leon presses the button with his thumb. A little heart of anticipation flutters out.

Page Seven:

7:1
A control panel/screen of the gummi ship. Slightly angled view, so that the "dashboard" holding the panel is visible and so is the edge of the yoke/control stick. In the center of some vague data displays is the words "Recall Activated". (This should be designed like the reaction commands in the game.) Conversation continues off-screen, like no one else has noticed.

???: Man, another dead end. We'll never find the way into their new headquaters at this rate.

7:2
Sora sprawls in the captain's chair. He's got his arms draped over the back, behind his head, and one leg up over the arm of the chair. His head is turned partially to the side, like he's talking to someone next to him. The yoke is in front of him.

Goofy (off-screen): Don't be discouraged, Sora. There's still lots more worlds to try!
Sora: I guess you're ri--

7:3
Still in the same position, Sora whips his head around in surprise. The yoke has pulled back on its own.

Sora: Eh?

7:4
Exterior. The gummi ship zooms through space toward the floating planet of Radiant Garden.

Sora: We're being summoned to Radiant Garden! Something must have happened!
Goofy: Gwarsh, I sure hope everybody is okay!
Donald: Aw phooey! It's probably just Merlin with his books again.

7:5
Transition panels/time pass.

Page Eight:

8:1
Sora is charging forward with his Keyblade slung across his shoulders. He is worried and ready for action. Goofy and Donald follow behind him, obscured by mosaics and "Copyright Protection" notices.

Sora: Riku! Kairi! What's the emergency?!

8:2
Riku and Kairi sit next to each other on a ledge overlooking the castle. They're turned toward Sora to acknowledge his arrival; each hold an ice cream. Riku is in the middle of taking a bite. Kairi tilts her head in confusion. Beyond them, the hodge-podge castle with the sun setting behind it dominates the view.

Kairi: Emergency?
Riku: ?

8:3
Side view, profile. Sora stands across from Riku and Kairi, his Keyblade lowered to the ground. He gestures with his other hand and seems pretty easy-going about it all. The Donald-mosaic has a little angry pop-vein on it. Kairi is in the foreground and talks laughingly. Beyond her, Riku is chomping on his ice cream with his eyes shadowed by his hair.

Sora: So nothing happened?
Kairi: Not unless you count someone busting a pipe and almost drowning us!
Donald: (small) I knew it!

8:4
Close up of Sora. He's pretty cheerful about the situation; visiting his friends is a welcome break from a frustrating journey. The Keyblade has vanished.

Sora: Well, I'll just check in with everyone to be sure!

Page Nine:

9:1 - 9:3
A quick sequence of Sora visiting first Merlin, then Cid, maybe also Yuffie or Arieth. The other person shrugs and shakes their head. Sora gets more and more question marks around him.

9:4
Sora, in the foreground, talks over his shoulder to Donald and Goofy. There's no real background to show where they are at.

Sora: I'm going home to check on Leon. You two wait here.
Donald & Goofy: No problem!

Sora bursts in through the door to his, Leon, and Cloud's place. He holds the door with one hand and is shouting to announce himself.

View over the back of Sora's head. His hair is frazzled all over the place like he just got shocked with lightening. Leon stands in front of the fridge, in the process of closing the door. He holds what looks like a beer bottle, but has the word "MILK" or something equally PG slapped on it. He's completely stark naked and totally unbothered by Sora's sudden arrival.

Leon: Hey, good timing.
Sora: %@#^$!!!

Sora turns around to yank the front door closed, so he can't see Leon's state of nakedness anymore. He's blushing and horrified and clearly his sensibilities have been utterly offended.

Sora: What are you doing?! What if one of the others came over?! What if I had guests with me? What --

Leon leans over Sora and nuzzles behind his ear, the hand holding the MILK bottle supporting him above their heads. Sora is half-squished against the door in the process; mooshed in cheek first.

Leon: It would teach them not to come in unannounced.
