Even from South. Which you know, North has been trying to do for YEARS. He can't perfect that special sort of serene 'don't give a fuck about your bullshit right now South' that Maine manages. 2. Least favorite? -The silence. North's 'genuinely interested in other people.' Read: Nosy. (lol) And not being able to read people is hard for him. What is the big guy thinking? He's a touch jealous that Wash seems to get it so easily. Also the whole fucking GRENADE THROWN IN GENERAL DIRECTION OF HIS BEST FRIEND. Yes, that capslock is justified. 3. Do they have any fears involving or regarding your character? -At this moment in 6i? Knee-jerk fear. It doesn't matter that Wash has stressed that it's not the same Maine. His first sight of the big guy is going to make him feel a little sick and reach for the spot where he's got a wicked nasty scar from the blade of the Bruteshot stabbing through his heart. 4. Are they envious of your character? What do they envy? -Envious? Yes. Because from the word go one of his best friends ever (of all time) told him to go the fuck away, and yet manages a quiet protectiveness of Maine. North wants that connection to his friends, to his home, to his world. But he can't have it. 5. What do they admire about your character? -Can he go back to the whole 'handles South by ignoring' thing? No. Okay. Well, Maine just doesn't let anything stop him. Even with his throat savaged he got back up and he was back in the field. Probably also his body. Listen, North's been long and lean all his life. He envies a body like that. Of course he doesn't know the price Maine paid for it... 6. If they could swap bodies with your character for a day, how would they spend the day? -In 6i? Pining for Theta. Because that's the last family he's got left. Possibly also swearing because Maine doesn't use his voice enough and so clearly people need to get Maine saying things on the record. Also a bit of low-key self-care for that body. Maine's getting a manicure, pedicure, maybe a message because WOW are you carrying a lot of tension in your shoulders. And you know it's sad when the sniper laments your shoulders. 7. If they could take one personality trait and/or physical feature from your character for themselves, what would it be? -Again, he wouldn't mind that body. But if it's only one, it would be Maine's perseverance. North has just lost about everything but Theta, who he can't even take a step back from anymore. He needs a bit of strength to process his own death, his sister's possible betrayal, the deaths of just about everyone he knows and loves... so many things. 8. Are they keeping any secrets from your character? What are they? -Um. Yes. Everything he's learned from Wash about the Meta. His death at the hands of the Meta (who Wash assures him is not the same as Maine and he trusts Wash even if Wash doesn't trust him), the AI stuff (who knows if he'll ever mention Theta to Maine directly, not that Maine couldn't find out), what happens to Maine's throat, the truth about the project... So much. 9. Do they trust your character? How much? What would it take to break that trust? -This is one that is really hard to answer at this point. Once that would have been an undeniable yes. But that was before York was hurt. That was before things got really fucked up in the program. And yet North gets on SOME level that the program wasn't about building them up. So right now it's all a mess of confusion in his head. Theta, however, might push North to trusting Maine before he's ready for it. 10. What is their first impression vs. current impression of your character? -Big. Still big. Okay but serious, his first impression was probably some early Freelancer thing, and probably watching Maine take something apart. And his first thought was 'note to self: don't get on his bad side.' Which of course has been confirmed. His current impression was that he last had in the program, when he last interacted. Which is pity and concern over the Sigma AI. How it was clearly hurting Maine. How Maine didn't seem... Maine. 11. Do they like your character better now than when they first met? -Again, it's complicated because of canon. By the time he left the program it was all such a jumble of mixed emotions. He probably owes Maine his life a few times over. How many times are knocked off by Maine becoming Meta, Maine killing him? Maine killing their friends in the program? Too much. North needs to really interact with Maine again to come to conclusions. 12. What is their favorite thing to do with your character? -This was probably just the occasional times they would have spent together in the mess, when Wash's afternoon or whatever friends of York and North actually sat together with Wash's other friends in Maine and Connie. When it was warm and easy. Laughing at Wash being an adorable fool. 13. In a horror movie, which role do they think your character would play? -Once he would have said the big jock who tries to protect the others and dies trying. Now the whole monster role seems... 14. What animal or plant does your character remind them of? -Maine is a bear. A big, fluffy, cuddy bear. Except when angry. Bear. 15. What is their ideal afternoon spent with your character? -I don't know that he has one? At this point in 6i, with positive CR, working together to get Wash to open up again. To try and get back some of that smiling, positive, happy rookie they both knew and cared about. 16. Would they date your character? Hook up with them? -Wow. This question is on here? Okay. North is pan, so yes, he would hook up with Maine, especially since Maine would be a rare instance of someone being bigger than him and that's intriguing to him. And I mean, you never know who dating is going to work with. HOWEVER, I don't see this as remotely possible because of circumstances, the presence of Theta, and all of Freelancer. And the fact that North is pretty sure that in those areas Maine has the emotional depth of a drop of water on a level surface. Sorry, but, seriously, has Maine EVER dated? 17. Would they betray your character? Under what circumstances? -To protect Wash. To protect Theta. To protect South. Except one of those is dead, the other he can protect simply by keeping himself safe, and the last one... Oh geez. 18. Would they kill your character? If not, what could potentially force their hand? -If his hand was forced. He would have tried to kill the Meta for his own sake before his death. Now? He's got a quiet pity in his gut. But if Maine showed ANY signs of lapsing to Meta (lord please no canon update), North would put him down. 19. Would they die for your character? -No. Severely injured, yes. But die? No. The only ones North would have died for are his twin and Theta (wouldn't even die for York and that's saying something as I play him unrequited that way). 20. If they could change one thing about your character, what would it be? -Maine would be a bit more talkative. not about feelings or all of that, just... approachable. 21. What do they associate with your character? -Strength. Determination. Someone who doesn't stay down when they get put on their ass. |
