The Toymaker & His Smooth Toys

Once upon a time there was a people of animated wooden toys. All day long they put stickers on one another. Some were positive, expressing their admiration for one who won races or contests, or performances, and some were negative for toys that let themselves get dinged up and worn down by time and weather. Our main character had a lot of the negative ones. He wasn't that seriously bruised, but he never learned how to protect himself from the elements, and once anyone put a negative sticker on him, many others would also give him negative stickers without even necessarily knowing why they were doing it. He wasn't "unique" in this, for the same toys would do it to positive stickers too. If someone got a positive sticker, then very soon many others would follow, and the more they got, the more people would wish to put positive stickers on there. Even if someone disliked how many positive stickers there were, and tried to give them a negative, then it would be soon covered up and the toy trying to put the negative in the first place, would soon be the one covered in the negative stickers.

So it was for our MC too, many other elderly toys tried to give him a positive sticker to make him feel better; but it would have an unfortunate side effect in others who deemed it "pity stickers," and their means of expressing their displeasure at such a thing.

One day, he saw a completely smooth woman toy. She had NO stickers on her whatsoever! Some of the other toys who saw this tried to give her positive or negative stickers depending on their inclination, but these new stickers wouldn't stick to her at all! He immediately tried to get her alone and ask her secret, and she simply shook her head. "It's no secret at all. These stickers don't mean anything to me, because the one who created us made me this way, and he prefers me smooth."

"Can I meet him too?" he eagerly hoped!

"Come with me," she led him to the cave where the Toymaker was hiding away from the rest of his creations and their noise and fighting with each other.

It wasn't instantaneous, but slowly after days and days of meeting with the Toymaker, the MC's stickers too wore off and no more would stick to him.

-- Because God didn't make us to judge each other, but to love and be loved.
