Badge/Gym Leader: Saffron City Gym: Sabrina
Elite/Regular: Regular level

Battle Details: For the battle against Sabrina's crew, Demyx will be relying solely upon Fugue the Zoroark. At level 80, Fugue is no less than a force of nature and at a serious advantage both in typing and in raw ability in comparison to Sabrina's entire roster. With powerful Dark and Ghost-type moves at Fugue's disposal and perfect immunity to Psychic-type moves, Demyx will go in fast and hard against each of Sabrina's pokémon.

Against Sabrina's Espeon and Mr. Mime, Demyx will rely upon Fugue's powerful physical attacks to outmatch the pair's light frames and comparitively low defense, with the daunting list of Pursuit, Faint Attack, Night Slash, Torment, Night Daze, Shadow Claw and Punishment (in the event Sabrina choses to use Espeon's or Mr. Mime's status-raising abilities), Demyx commands a one-man army with more than enough firepower to plow through the pair.

Mr. Mime's ability to mimic the moves of a pokémon will prove of little consequence in the fight against Fugue, as no moves Fugue possesses exploit any of his type weaknesses, even if Mr. Mime copies Fugue's ability 'Imprison.' With the shallow pool of moves the pair can both possess Fugue will be able to completely shrug off being inflicted by Imprison and continue to pound away at both of Sabrina's lower-leveled psychics.

The only genuine challenge Sabrina could pose is with Alakazam, who brings the level gap to 20, rather than the previous 30 and 25. However, Alakazam possesses low defense and decent special defense, a move-pool almost exclusively Psychic, and only one potential move that could exploit the Dark-type weakness to Fighting (Focus Blast from its TM/HM pool). At this point in the battle, Fugue will probably have exhausted a few of his physical moves and will switch to peppering his assault with Shadow Ball in order to weaken Alakazam and save the rest of his physical strikes for the finishing blow.

To summate adequately, I believe.

Fugue the Zoroark is going to utterly steamroll Sabrina in every way imaginable. He is 20 levels stronger than her strongest pokémon and at a complete advantage.

In conclusion:

LOOK AT YOUR GYM LEADER, NOW LOOK AT FUGUE. SADLY, YOUR GYM LEADER IS NOT HALF THE MAN FUGUE IS. LOOK AT YOUR STADIUM, NOW LOOK BACK, FUGUE IS A BULLDOZER, YOUR ROSTER ARE PANCAKES. SMOOTH, BUTTERY PANCAKES CRUSHED UNDER THE MANLY HEELS OF A ROARING BEAST. LOOK UP, NOW LOOK DOWN. WHERE ARE WE? THE VICTORY CIRCLE.

I AM ON A RAPIDASH.

Battle Details: Demyx's battle team for this encounter will be Alto Clef, Jazz, and Fugue, with Fugue being the back-up and support for Jazz during the battle, and Alto serving as support and healing. Jazz is a full fire-type with a large array of powerful moves, while Fugue possesses raw power and Flamethrower. Alto possesses Healing Pulse, a powerful move than can and will be used to keep the team at full steam for as long as possible while Jazz heads the assault.

While Jazz is at a type advantage, his level is even with Erika's strongest and only five and three levels ahead of her other two pokémon. As such, Jazz will fight fast and hard against the first two so that he can hopefully knock them out before they can do major damage to him. Jazz will go all out against Jumpluff and Tangrowth, pulling no punches and going straight for a volley of Fire Fang and Flame Wheel against the lesser evils and hoping to last all the way to Erika's Bellossom. Because Jazz is only at level 50, the strategy requires an all-out approach that will hinge on whether or not Jazz can make it to Bellossom or if Fugue will need to take over beforehand. Should he fall, Fugue will be put into play as leader and use his raw power to finish the match off as best he can against the remaining pokémon.
