Someone once told me that 1969 is the end of an era.

Perhaps it is. After 1969, the US decided that victory in the Vietnam War is no longer possible, though that war would go on for another 6 years. 1969 was also the year the first man landed on the Moon.

Bryan Adams even has a song called "Summer of '69" and 1969 is actually mentioned in specific in the song Hotel California.

1969 is also the Year of the Cock / Rooster. And while the Cock of the same element would return in 60 years (i.e. 2029), there wouldn't be another '69 Cock until 2269. Yep, that's 300 years.

2018, is yet the end of another era. While numerically, it isn't as significant as '69, we witnessed the passing of Louis Cha (aka Jin Yong) in the east, and Stan Lee in the West.

Both have created the universe and heroes many of us loved, and indeed - many of us still lived. Those universes have been a good escape for us from the realities of this cruel world, and I wondered will we ever see the likes of you both again.

I thank you for creating them.

Rest in peace, old men. May you pass on to a better world.
