9. What is something that would break them emotionally?

This is an interesting question because, in a way, he *had* been doing the things that would break him emotionally. It was never a single, solid, unfixable break but mirroring his dad's behavior was something that ultimately kept knocking more and more cracks into his psyche. When he was younger and running from the law with his dad he would say they were nothing alike, he wasn't like him, and then when ultimately left to fend for himself he *had* to become like that.

It fucked him up!

I suppose if you really wanted to fuck him up more it would require dragging down someone he viewed as "good" again. If he had to watch another person he loved and respected fall into evil, harmful behavior, it would be even harder to bounce back.

In Golden Peacock there are a few options out there... in terms of raw date romanticism, like, I think Akira does edge Genya out a bit on the date demanding front. Not for sheer number! Just, Aak clearly treated Genya's dates as a tax or toll to start with while Akira is a lot more about the flair of it all. Not to mention Genya is such a shy and stubborn boy. How can he compete with the theater kid energy Akira would bring.

That said, like, Genya's the one who says shmoopy stuff like wanting to hear about his past, his life, etc, etc. He's awkward but he's made so much progress and I love him, your honor.

Rin fails at romanticism a lot but I'll give her points for being domestic and feeding him. That's a love language.
