Upon being escorted out of the ship's rooms by Eric and across the water by Wu Xin, Walter got a bandage applied to his head by a chorebot and promptly found a place to just sleep. Maybe he actually fell asleep too soon after the concussion but he is beyond caring. The sand makes it easy for him to slip in and out of consciousness. Judging by the position of the sun (though who knows in the tropics or whatever alien system this is), it might actually be the following day when he sees his friend in the distance. And calls out to him. Everything is complicated right now, but at this point... just seeing Pyotr Stepanovich fills him with familiarity in the wake of the storm.

"Glad you're safe! You'll never guess who rescued me from the shipwreck. I'll give you a hint, he has his powers back now."
