The human part of Julien is an Asian-Caucasian mix, five feet five inches tall with a compact body type - broad-shouldered and pretty fit, moreso than Yuuya's gijinka. Now and then he's mistaken for a teenager, but there are signs of care around his eyes. Julien bears a certain resemblance to Mister Argentan, a wealthy pale-haired businessman/sometime politician who's big on Wall Street and lives in Canada. That's his father.

Even aside from the obvious, there are signs that he's not very human anymore. He doesn't breathe quite like humans do. His normal speaking voice is on the high side and thoroughly unintimidating, even though there's a slight resonant quality to it. Due to a metabolism change he has a body temperature of around 107 degrees Fahrenheit, so to the touch or close proximity he feels like he should have a high fever. Unable now to sweat or produce human body oils, instead Julien exudes a waxy avian oil, particularly from the uropygial gland near the base of his spine. He does not smell human in the least, but when clean his scent is a pleasant yeasty-hot sweetness, like fresh baked bread. His skin is now incredibly thin and soft, like frog's skin, and instead of whorled fingerprint patterns on his hands and feet there are imprints like very tiny scales.

"Lind ar cuil ar mîl carir echil" has been tattooed down the outside of one leg.

His "hair" is thick, soft, and tends to gently clump. Each follicle has two strands, which seem a little more lightweight than normal hair. If he kept it unaltered it would be white, all of it, from his scalp to his eyelashes to his toes. He dyes it all blue. Pale roots are never visible, since it doesn't grow. Also, his eyes are a little odd - still blue, but the brightness, silvery tint, and tiny pupils evident in a lot of icons aren't just quirks of the art style. These days Julien doesn't always wear glasses. They move quickly and he's careful not to blink them when someone's close enough to watch.

Instead of teeth he has solid, glossy keratinous structures, one for his upper and one for his lower jaw, of about the right color to be teeth. On the outside they're grooved and they do look like teeth if not examined up close. The inside of his mouth is very unusual and his tongue has a <a href= http://24.media.tumblr.com/75d990ebce14867fdc0c905b163d91d3/tumblr_n10bnzGZ7V1r22yypo1_500.jpg>forked structure</a> at the midpoint, but it's very hard to get a good look at either.
