On a slightly more serious note...
I wanted to talk a bit about attendance. This isn't school, and I'm not keeping a session-by-session record of who can or can't play. And I know that life happens! People can't make it for a week here or there, or have a trip planned. I get it, that's fine! And sometimes, unexpected scenarios happen, and you have to call out on short notice. That's ok too. Likewise, stepping away from the keyboard for a few minutes is not a problem... everyone needs to, sooner or later.
It's a problem, though, when it happens week after week. Whether it's consistently being late to the game, or not being at the computer when you're called on, or leaving early, it's disrespectful to the other players who are making an effort to be there on time and ready to play.
I understand that life happens, I do! I try to keep a pretty steady schedule for the game, where everyone knows when we start and end, so you can plan accordingly. But maybe that schedule isn't working... so we can talk about it. Let me know if the current game schedule doesn't fit your needs, and we can have a conversation about what would work. Likewise, maybe the flow of the game isn't working for you, and you want more combat, or exploration, or social challenges, etc. Please TALK TO ME about what you want, to stay engaged and interested in the game.
Nobody is in trouble. Nobody needs to offer any apologies. I'm just asking that, going forward, you respect the time and effort of all your fellow players, and when the game IS on, you're fully HERE.
