Marianne held her tightly, not minding that she was forced to crouch next to the other's chair. If anything, she was glad that she had arrived when she did. Blacking out might seem like a great idea to the Englishwoman, but such a fate always worried Marianne. She knew that as nations they couldn't possibly be harmed by something as lame as alcohol poisoning, but that didn't stop her from worrying. Her eyes narrowed in concentration as Alice spoke. *Mon Dieu* , she already had enough trouble as it was understanding -English- (or at least, she gave off that impression), but what was this terrible indecipherable accent?! Mixed with the slurring, it made picking out words difficult.

Something had happened. And she didn't want to talk about it. That much she got. Well, perhaps she'd have better luck with a bit of patience. She could wait. She kissed Alice's forehead before pulling her up to a standing position, or as best of a standing position as they could get to. "Let's get you cleaned up a bit." Of course, the Frenchwoman was now anticipating resistance.
