His influence is unlimited. He is the best of all living entities, the controller of the three modes of material nature. By His own power, He creates this cosmic manifestation, maintains it and annihilates it also.——ch8, text8. 『至高之神格乃至尊的掌控者與時間之源,祂代表感官之力、心靈之力、身軀之力,祂是力量中不可或缺的。祂的影響力無可限量,是所有存於世間之物中最優秀的,同時也是自然中物質三態的操縱者。祂憑藉著自身力量,創造並展示了宇宙,護佑它,也毀滅它。』 Hiraṇyakaśipu studied the form of the Lord, trying to decide who the form of Nṛsiṁhadeva standing before him was. The Lord’s form was extremely fearsome because of His angry eyes, which resembled molten gold; His shining mane, which expanded the dimensions of His fearful face; His deadly teeth; and His razor-sharp tongue, which moved about like a dueling sword. His ears were erect and motionless, and His nostrils and gaping mouth appeared like caves of a mountain. His jaws parted fearfully, and His entire body touched the sky. His neck was very short and thick, His chest broad, His waist thin, and the hairs on His body as white as the rays of the moon. His arms, which resembled flanks of soldiers, spread in all directions as He killed the demons, rogues and atheists with His conchshell, disc, club, lotus and other natural weapons.——ch8, text19~21. 『金床仔細端詳著至高的外貌,試圖辨別站在他面前的那羅辛哈是何者。至高形象的外貌因他的如熔化黃金的怒目而無比可怖,他閃亮的鬃毛令他臉龐的猙獰膨發壯大,他那可致命的牙齒與那同刀般鋒利的舌頭,如決鬥的利劍般揮舞。他靜止的豎立雙耳,鼻孔和張開的嘴猶如山洞,而又讓整個身軀觸及天空。他的脖子短又粗,胸膛寬闊,腰部纖細,身上的毛髮潔白如月光。他的雙臂形似士兵的腰腹,向四面八方蔓延,以海螺、圓盤、棍棒、蓮花和其餘武器屠殺惡魔與惡棍。』 Manifesting a full effulgence and a fearsome countenance, Lord Nṛsiṁha, being very angry and finding no contestant to face His power and opulence, then sat down in the assembly hall on the excellent throne of the king. Because of fear and obedience, no one could come forward to serve the Lord directly.——ch8, text34. 『那羅辛哈怒不可遏的展現出豐裕的光輝與可怖的面容,未有任何匹敵之人能直面祂的威嚴與富饒。祂坐上大廳中那象徵君王的尊貴寶座上,四周卻因為懼怕與服從,無人膽敢上前侍奉至高之者。』 The end of the millennium is the time for Your anger. Now that this insignificant demon Hiraṇyakaśipu has been killed, O my Lord, who are naturally affectionate to Your devotee, kindly protect his son Prahlāda Mahārāja, who is standing nearby as Your fully surrendered devotee.——ch8, text41. 『濕婆神言:當千禧年結束之時,正是祢的憤怒顯現之時。如今,這無足輕重的惡魔金床已被消滅,我等至高的存在,祢本深愛祢的信徒,那由祢親自護佑的惡魔梔子,他正站在祢的身旁,他早已皈依於祢。』 How is it possible for me, who have been born in a family of asuras, to offer suitable prayers to satisfy the Supreme Personality of Godhead? Even until now, all the demigods, headed by Lord Brahmā, and all the saintly persons, could not satisfy the Lord by streams of excellent words, although such persons are very qualified, being in the mode of goodness. Then what is to be said of me? I am not at all qualified.——ch9, text8. 『我生於惡魔蔓生的家庭,怎有辦法獻上合宜的禱文以滿足至高之神格呢?但直至現在,所有由梵天引領的神祉,乃至聖人們口中吐出的神聖字句都無法滿足至尊的祢,即便祂們早已具備良善與美好的資質,那麼我又如何?我根本沒有一絲一毫符合。』 One may possess wealth, an aristocratic family, beauty, austerity, education, sensory expertise, luster, influence, physical strength, diligence, intelligence and mystic yogic power, but I think that even by all these qualifications one cannot satisfy the Supreme Personality of Godhead. However, one can satisfy the Lord simply by devotional service. Gajendra did this, and thus the Lord was satisfied with him.——ch9, text9. 『一個人能擁有財富、貴族家庭、美貌、簡樸、教育、靈敏的感官、光彩、影響力、勤奮、智慧與靈魂堅韌的力量,但我認為,即便滿足以上所有條件,仍不能真正滿足至高之神。然而透過無私的奉獻與愛卻能滿足,因象之王加詹德拉便如此行事,至高之神便滿意至極。』 Therefore, although I was born in a demoniac family, I may without a doubt offer prayers to the Lord with full endeavor, as far as my intelligence allows. Anyone who has been forced by ignorance to enter the material world may be purified of material life if he offers prayers to the Lord and hears the Lord’s glories.——ch9, text12. 『因此,儘管我生在惡魔之家,我無疑會盡我所能地向祢拼命的獻上祈禱,直到我的智慧用盡。任何被愚昧無知逼入物質世界的人,只要向主祈禱,聆聽祢的榮耀,就能被淨化。』 My dear Lord, You alone manifest Yourself as the entire cosmic manifestation, for You existed before the creation, You exist after the annihilation, and You are the maintainer between the beginning and the end. All this is done by Your external energy through actions and reactions of the three modes of material nature. Therefore whatever exists — externally and internally — is You alone.——ch9, text30. 『親愛的主,唯有祢將自身以宇宙的模樣顯現,因祢在創世前便已存在,祢在造物誕生前存在,祢在毀滅後存在,祢是存於終始之間的護佑。而這一切皆由祢那外顯的力量,擺弄物質界之三態而達成。因此一切存在的,由內與由外的——皆唯有祢。』  |
