Drifting Heart

My heart, it lingers, tethered to you,
Drifts before you, elusive, unsure what to do.
My love, like a breeze, gently it flows,
To brush past your eyes, where my affection grows.

I can't bear to see your eyes moist with dew,
Fearing I'll rush to comfort, to your sorrow be true.
I dread to hear words of loneliness you might say,
For then my true feelings might just give way.

My hands, they ache, longing to reach out,
Past your flowing hair, to your heart, no doubt.
My tenderness, like a bird, takes flight,
Over your shoulders, through the day and night.

I loathe to watch you walk away alone,
Fearing I'll grab your hand, make you my own.
I can't stand to see your reluctant glance,
Might make me stay, give love another chance.

You bloom like a flower, under sky so wide,
Enveloping me in your warm embrace, I hide.
Unwilling to admit this deep love's my frailty,
Can I stay with you, through life's cruelty?

Reluctant to leave, my heart still hovers near,
In front of you, it floats, caught in love's sphere.
Unwilling to part, my passion does roam,
Wandering before you, longing for home.

I love you.
