lucien!! he and margaret both share the honor of being people todomatsu fucking hated in w0 who he ended up actually being okay with, which is a rare honor since he is a big grudge holder lmao

i think their first interaction was both of them just sitting at a table and being useless during the first part of the w0 minievent while other people were out there working hard and getting their asses kicked by mold and broken showers and stuff and just being like "welp sucks to be those guys." lucien was also very charming at the party getting him drinks and everything before he realized it was all a PLOY TO STEAL HIS PHONE!!!!!!! so todomatsu briefly liked him for part of one afternoon and then fucking hated him by the end of that same night lmao.

it really was like-- he would have been annoyed no matter what, but if his phone had been returned without him having to ask for it and it hadn't been REALLY OBVIOUS THAT LUCIEN HAD BEEN TRYING TO BREAK INTO IT he would have accepted that it was a dare and tolerated that. but as it was he was just furious that a) he'd been played for a fool and humiliated!!, b) the fucker tried to get into his phone to look at his private stuff and locked him out for three days!!!!!, c) he had to track him down and demand it back, and d) that "what'll you give me for it" bullshit when it was his fucking phone that he already paid for!!!

it was funny when they got locked in the tea shop a few weeks later because lucien actually seemed so much more bothered by it than he did, with his DESPERATELY TRYING TO LEAVE while totty was just like uh no i don't really want to hang out with you either but we can just ignore each other and enjoy our tea in silence at separate tables???? and lucien being like, everyone just hates me for saying what needs to be said!! was also hilarious because todomatsu is notoriously callous and gets shit for that himself in canon so he was just like??? what are you TALKING about, i'm just pissed that you stole my phone and then acted like a dick about it???? i truly do not fucking care about any of the other stuff you keep thinking i'm holding against you. so i think maybe that cleared the air a little??

aside from all that i think they were usually pretty much on the same page during trials and stuff because they DID kind of share the same trait of being generally unsympathetic pragmatists. i loved their thread after the w2 trial because it was like, oh, we actually get along fine and seem to have kind of similar viewpoints when there's not this stupid drama coloring everything. and i think that was also the most todomatsu really showed the rougher shittier side of himself to anyone lmao because he had zero reason to try to keep up his cute appearance with lucien so it was just like, yeah, let's smoke and dryly talk about the times we've died and murdered, why the fuck not!

anyway he was mostly fine with lucien after that, though he still got annoyed with him for being a shitty asshole several times. but like, he also gets annoyed with his brothers for being shitty assholes, so it was a lot closer to that than actually disliking him.
