ownerrrr... this was another one that ended up surprising me.

todomatsu was very neutral on him at first, leaning slightly negative for stupid reasons. he was kind of annoyed about dahut inviting him over to their room that first night, but rather than blaming dahut for the invitation he mostly blamed blade for being an irrational asshole and kicking out his roommate and slightly blamed owner for apparently being annoying enough to kick out lmao... and then afterward when he went to lecture blade about how he needed to grow up and deal with having a roommate like everyone else he found out that he'd actually been in the brig all night so NO ONE had been in owner's room and he was just like ?!!! he also annoyed him a little bit at the w0 party but to be fair he was annoyed with a LOT of things at that party and in a pretty irritable mood in general.

then it was bathroom curfew..... owner got labeled the jyushimatsu because he was the goofy and incomprehensible one (i know i was like THIS IS WHY YOU'RE THE JYUSHIMATSU in brackets as an insult at one point but tbh i think jyushi is one of his favorite brothers). it kind of bothered him how UNBOTHERED owner seemed about everything at the time, and it pissed him off a lot every time someone made a remark either out loud or in their thoughts that was clearly insinuating that he was handling it badly, so he also lost a point for that... but also gained some back for appreciating baths and hot springs. japan solidarity.

anyway, he was not his favorite person in the bathroom at the time, but he seemed like he was taking things more seriously after the deaths, and the bathroom WAS a bonding experience, so he shifted to more neutral-positive after that. their conversation on sunday after all of that... god i'm looking back at it and todomatsu was so snappy, which was partly because he'd already gone two nights without sleeping at that point and partly because all of his sad and anxious emotions were just Out There on display and he was mad about getting doxxed like that. owner actually seemed concerned about how he was doing though, and since he couldn't really hide it anyway he was begrudgingly kind of honest about it, and he appreciated that owner seemed to have genuinely liked dahut a lot too. and then lmao his awkward-ass tsundere invitation where he was like, well, i GUESS it would be okay if you wanted to come over again sometime if your shitty roommate gives you trouble again.............. and then he was sad that he never took him up on it even though he framed it in the worst way

cyoa was Another Bonding Experience after the bathroom one-- i'm realizing now just how many of these he actually had with him in a row which might explain a lot lmao. they weren't together for most of it and he was very WHAT ARE YOU DOING when owner just straight up murdered that dude in front of him but he did also destroy the heartseed so that kind of evened out. and all of them had shared the same basic bad experiences there plus like... all of them except maybe kazuki are really secretive by nature anyway, so they really got forced into showing each other some fragments of their personal lives and were therefore kind of closer whether they really wanted to be or not. i still like todomatsu just being like "yeah sure /puts human bones in his purse without asking questions" at the end of that. with the arm thing i think he was kind of amused watching owner hide it and wanted to see how long that could last, but he could also kind of understand just not wanting to fucking talk about it so he was like, kind of valid i guess.

then the NEXT week was the tea shop curfew which was just the nicest curfew ever... and that actually made him a lot fonder of owner too, how owner was just kind of quietly supportive while he was dying inside answering truth or dare questions about his brothers because he was the only one who knew that he was Going Through Some Shit on that topic, and gave him that headpat on a dare which he didn't exactly know the context for but it seemed nice?? and then sidon died and that fucking sucked because they'd both liked him a lot so it continued to just be Shared Understanding Week

the memshare he got from owner was like-- he didn't have enough context to fully grasp what was going on there but his impression was that okay, maybe he'd enjoyed killing in the past, but he also didn't seem to want to be defined that way now and it seemed like he had people? entities??? that he did genuinely care for and want to protect too. and he was also just kind of like, well, if he was interested in killing me he's had like 20 opportunities already so i think it's fine. he was honestly more comfortable around owner by that point than he was with a lot of people so he was definitely like SHRUG. and again, he hates talking about his own personal life, so in most cases he'd kind of go "if it doesn't seem like they're eager to talk about it, i'm not going to bring it up either" (and hopefully they'd return the favor if they see one of HIS memories).

anyway owner just became someone he was surprisingly comfortable around, and he liked talking to him after whatever shitty things happened each week because despite how goofy he'd seemed at first he was actually very rational and it felt like they were usually pretty much on the same page with things. and he was his LAST BATHROOM COMPANION ALIVE!!! so he was really sad when he died and missed his presence a lot.

during that trial he was just kind of like CLOSES EYES as the picture of harley's murder became clearer, but there was never any doubt that owner had to have been affected by the rage parasite to have done that. the way yuri talked about him in that trial really rubbed him the wrong way, just like, the assumptions that his not being a human and not having normal human emotions meant he didn't really care about anyone. because he'd definitely felt like owner had cared about him and sidon and shouxue and others there, and it had seemed that way in his memshare too. and i think he also took it a little personally because he's the one his brothers call a monster with no heart or feelings (and he literally didn't have a heart when you could see his organs in one episode lmao) and while he leans into that as part of his character a lot more now it really upset him at one point.

he talked to kazuki about that a little after the trial, and kazuki mentioned owner saying to him before that he didn't think any of them there would have bothered with him if they hadn't gotten these chances to know him, and he felt kind of bad about that because that was definitely how he'd acted toward him himself the first week, and he was like, honestly yeah that would probably still be the case if he hadn't kept getting stuck in these small group situations with him. but he did so he ended up caring about him a lot!!! i liked their cyoa group yelling to the sky about the plant stuff during the town hall like OWNER-SAN ARE YOU HEARING THIS SHIT???? because they were all jim bonded for life and beyond

and when the dead came back hugging owner was actually his first stop even before going to dahut and rosamund and everyone because he wanted him to know he was important!!!! and i'm so glad they finally got their spa party with the whole bathroom crew and got to live their best japanese guy lives...

anyway owner's welcome in his world any time, since he sounded intrigued by how fucking weird it is, and todomatsu doesn't feel like he has to try to dress his brothers up as decent human beings for him either. he can come with them to the bathhouse they always go to, it'll be fun!!
