That way, we have more pre!mindfuck Judai :|a --- It was a nice day. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping… …and then the heavens opened. Completely forgetting about their intangibility, Hane Kuriboh and Ruby Carbuncle flew like no tomorrow to the nearest shelter, the Osiris Red dorm. By then, the light drizzle had escalated into a full storm. “Kuri, kuri…” Hane Kuriboh sighed, looking at the bleak weather. Judai’s deck was rather stuffy so he was looking forward to a nice, sunny day to tumble around in. Unfortunately, that was not going to be the case anytime soon. Ruby stared out into the ocean, the lighthouse twinkling through the raindrops. The effect was rather pretty, and Ruby got a sudden desire to know what caused it. “Rubii! Bii?” She asked, and Hane Kuriboh just shrugged. This gave him an idea, however. “Ku-kuri! Kuri?” A mischievous undertone laced his words. Ruby gave a glare, then agreed with a competitive “whap!” of her tail. Together, the two duel spirits flew towards the lighthouse in search for the source of the light. --- An hour’s worth of searching, however, proved fruitless. Disappointed in not being able to see the light’s origin, they slowly flew back into the Osiris dorms. There, a pensive Johan greeted them, while Judai was drawing a card from his deck. The little furball was not surprised to see his owner dueling the transfer student. Again. “Hey, aibou, where were you?” After asking, he quickly shifted his attention back to his hand. Sighing, Hane Kuriboh started explaining their little adventure in the storm. Ruby interjected with her own two cents every now and then, only occasionally poking fun of Hane Kuriboh’s sudden “allergy to darkness” (that prompted a full-blown laugh from Judai) and general shenanigans. Only when they were done did Judai finally stop smiling; he seemed to recall something from the back of his mind. Finally, he spoke up: “…Hey, hasn’t that lighthouse been out of order since forever?” They took a moment to digest that. In the distance, a faint, ethereal giggle could be heard… |
