Concentrating, the silver-haired half-elf managed to pull out two white feathery wings, which flapped gently. Admittedly, they were nothing compared to Kratos’ and Colette’s, but they were still beautiful. She reached out and plucked a feather off to examine. She dropped it upon hearing an angel mutter, “I’m running the job of being his courier today… how boring.” An idea sparked in Raine’s head, and she took out her staff, smirking. She hit him on the head with it a few times, knocking him out. She searched for an ID and found one. She took his outer garments, dressing herself up with them as to not start any new suspicions. She showed the guards the card, and they nodded humbly, allowing her through. “Well, that was easy,” she thought to herself as she stepped on the warp pad. Raine appeared in front of Yggdrasill’s throne, and almost slapped herself upon realizing she didn’t even know what kind of message or object to relay to him. Those thoughts stopped immediately when she noticed someone standing near him, his back to her. “Ah, if it isn’t the courier,” Yggdrasill nodded to her. She glided forward, using her feet to balance her when she tilted sideways, and the other man turned to face her. His eyes flickered in recognition. She hoped to Martel that he didn’t ruin her plans. “How is the Exsphere mutation project going?” “V-Very well, Lord,” she replied, frightened. If he mentioned that she wasn’t the courier, or if she was fake— A wave of nausea passed over her. “Ugh,” she grunted. “Lord, I will take care of the courier,” he said smoothly, supporting her and taking another warp which was to the side of his throne. Raine cringed from the queasiness while they made their way to what she guessed was his quarters. They entered a nearly blank room, save for a photograph that was hard to decipher, and a few trinkets here and there. The door shut behind them. “…Raine, what are you doing here?” Kratos loomed over her sitting form. |
