"... and there!"

Danny watched as his older sister stepped back from the powered down automotron. Though it was incredibly life-like, seeing in slumped over highlighted it's unnaturalness. Still, he shot her a smile.

"It looks great, Mer. Turn it on?"

She nodded, accidentally smearing her face with grease as she prepared for the "birth" of her creation.

"Once he's on, I can't turn him off. Are you sure you're ready?"

Danny nodded, and she shot him a thumbs up before ducking back behind it. Slowly, it hummed to life.

"I am C.L.O.C.K.W.O.R.K 00201112. How may I be of assistance?"

Merril frowned.

"He needs a name. What do you think?"

Danny raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"You're letting me name the thing you spent nearly a year building?"

She snorted.

"I may have built him, but I would have given up a long time ago if you weren't cheering me on the whole time."

Danny paused.

"... Spencer. He looks like a Spencer."

Merril clapped in excitement before standing in front of her creation.

"Okay, Clockwork! Your name is now Spencer, and it is how you'll be addressed. Understand?"

A tiny shudder flowed through his body.

"Spin-cert..."

She laughed, and it almost put Danny at ease about the whole thing.

"No, silly, Spencer! Spen-cer!"

It paused, then nodded.

"My name is Spencer."

Merril squealed, and Danny sighed. Their life was sure to never be boring again, at least
