Power is staring at the vending machine absolutely enraptured and I have no idea why. Like is she fascinated by thinking it's blood in a can? Or milk?
I'm really starting to wonder what's going on with the fiends in Special Division 4. We know that Galigali, the Violence Fiend, is extremely powerful and held back by the mask. It's speculated that he was made with Arai. Meanwhile Princi the Spider Devil and Angel the Angel Devil seem to be much weaker in some ways. Beam as the shark fiend would be a small wrench in this theory, maybe his case was that in devil form he was too chaotic. Anyway the point of this is that Power in her original Blood Devil form was extremely powerful, so the fiend version being easier to control would explain a lot. Maybe that's why she's conveniently a cute teenage girl. Who even looks a little like Makima but sillier...
Much has been made of Makima reporting to the higher ups. For example, "don't get attached", which would suggest to me that they worry she'd become motivated to look for loopholes in a contract. There's also the form included in the anime; I hope to transcribe it soon!
Anyway, what I really want to talk about is that the anime adds a shot of A DOOR. When the anime already OPENED with a non-manga shot of Denji's door. HELLO??? I always try to be careful about interpolating past abuse for Makima (even though Kishibe's line about Nayuta is all the evidence you need) but HELLO???
Denji really had a big way to go in terms of instinctively fighting like a hybrid. He spends a long time knocked out by Power's hammer to the head.
It's really sad that Power didn't get to make a contract with the Bat Devil. This would go a long way to explain her hatred towards both humans and devils.
Bat Devil seems to confirm my theory that devils can sorta just chill without really starving to death or other natural causes, since he lacks the blood he needs for probably some time... and it's not like he has some kind of infection either... There's a big shot of his eye. Nice.
I need to check the softer "wom wom" music because it is NOT looking for something.
You know, it's really underrated lately in analyses of the sadomasochism of part 2 that Denji genuinely snapped in the warehouse and was having the time of his life murdering all those zombies AND THAT WAS. BEFORE. HE MET MAKIMA. and now he's having the time of his life fighting the bat devil.
At that moment that he yells WHY HAVEN'T I COPPED A SINGLE DAMN FEEL, did they just draw his hands funky or did he have a few BROKEN FINGERS?
