Watching this, I really understand how they were able to make the CSM stage play so *exactly* the same as the anime. The intro of episode 8 is Himeno bringing Denji inside all over again, and the intro of episode 9 is Himeno using her final power as the Ghost Devil all over again. Which makes me really wonder why they still cut Muscle Devil...

It's really interesting watching the way that Katana Man's flashstep cut/slide ability functions, it's very Samurai Sword as they say. An example of a devil's related abilities being influenced by the cultural concept. Definitely seems relevant to interpreting use of abilities drawing on some central reservoir of energy that's enhanced by taking blood and possibly other stuff from humans such as lifespan. There are some samurai who were like yakuza, thugs who take whatever food they want from the restaurants, though I'm blurry on the historical process that's also just plain disputed anyway...

Perhaps it's just the R sounds that resonate with the "vroom" of the Chainsaw, but I seriously think that Latin American Spanish Denji might be my favorite Denji. He's very aggressive and tough, which is really how Denji is. He is going absolutely berserk in these battles. You really notice the "Demon in the name of Devil" music during the Eternity Devil and Katana Man battles. And then it stands out even more when he's meek after the shock of the "kiss", or stunned with anticipation at Himeno's advances in bed. Aki is kind of whatever, his calm delivery gives me the least to analyze. Latam Makima, similar to Suzie Yeung I don't like that her voice is physically low-pitched. Latam Power, really fits with the way I see her. Because she's really serious like... two thirds of the time. I'm not really sure if this is *correct* but it's what happens. Japanese Himeno is the messiest. English Himeno is the sexiest. Latam Himeno is the most loving.

Do they ever explain where the hell Power was during this battle? Did she run away? Was she temp-dead like during the training with Kishibe and needed to be revived with blood? She really is not that useful. And you know what, this makes sense because if Power and Denji were perceived as equally powerful, kind of like the way Asa and Denji are perceived by the public during Part 2, then Chainsaw Man would be sharing the spotlight and that's no good. Maybe that's what Makima was thinking by nerfing her so hard during the Bomb Devil arc in particular.

The waterfall wall scroll in the shrine is so peaceful... I wonder if the shrine is connected to the power of Japan. I want to think that Makima is extra pissed off at that guy who took a random woman hostage.

Makima smiles SO BIG when Madoka tells her that the other divisions were decimated. But then when he tells her he's quitting, she's SO SAD. I honestly think this is like when she told Power that she could be Makima's pet again, like she's genuinely confused and disappointed that he would say no.

You know what? It's interesting that Makima didn't "squish" Katana Man but also Sawatari especially since her face and name will later be presented in the photo. But then I realized that they're used later, Katana Man in Special Division 5 and Sawatari in the fight with the Gun Devil. Perhaps if you're squished, then you can't be used that way? That's what I've thought for a long time about all of Himeno being given to the Ghost Devil.
