When or if I started shipping it: I didn't ship it until right at the very end on the Ark of Yamato, where Issun leaves and Ammy is fighting her way up the closing ramp door to catch one last glimpse of him. :'(

My thoughts: I think of it more as a very cute broship! It can be romantic, but most of it is a heavy basis on "you're the perfect friend/partner" and "let's go drink sake and hit on ladies." It's not sexual at all, and I would still see it that way even if Amaterasu DID have a canon human form.

What makes me happy about them: I really enjoy ships where characters seem to just "get" each other. Nobody understands Ammy better than Issun does, and vice versa.

What makes me sad about them: Mostly that Ammy/Waka is so popular a ship that Ammy/Issun gets bogged down a good bit. My butthurt, can you feel it. :3;;

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: Changing Ammy to a human form is seen as the only way to make the ship work. I mean that's definitely true if you want the ship to be more, uh, physical... I haven't looked all that hard, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of fic with more of a bromantic emphasis. Mostly because Issun isn't all that popular a character.

Things I look for in fanfic: Honestly, when it comes to Okami in general, I try not to look for fanfic at all. It's a self-defense mechanism.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: For Ammy: Canine Warrior harem. My other ship for Issun is with Kai.

My happily ever after for them: Likely when Issun retires from being an envoy and makes the Celestial Plain a more permanent residence. They spend eternity being old and drinking and painting and playing pranks on the other residents and in general making a nuisance of themselves.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity: Much as I want to say babe-hunting, I imagine their actual favorite activity is dungeon tromping/treasure hunting. Beat up the bad guys, get some sweet loot, sell said sweet loot, spend all the money in one shot. Rinse/Wash/Repeat.
