There is a moment in Spirit Temple where the spirit visions are basically trying to tell Azula what she wants to hear, and at one point this involves her insisting to a vision of Ursa that if she had just let Zuko die she could have stayed and protected her from Ozai instead, culminating in the spirit of Ursa asking Azula if she just wishes all the people she loved who betrayed her and hurt her would apologize and ask for forgiveness.

(By the way, a lot of fascinating admissions implicit in that sentiment- she acknowledges that her mother loved her AND that Ozai was the monster who ruined her AND that the only way Ursa could have prevented it was by letting her other child literally die, something she apparently believes was reasonable to expect.)

And the spirit vision of Mai, who has basically been the constant voice of ugly reality in the face of all these pretty and comforting narratives, suddenly cuts in from offscreen with "Oh, please. You can't seriously think YOU'RE the victim here."

And I just. I want that panel. I want it framed. That is the Azula stans and their nonsense in a nutshell.
