COVID-19 likely started with a lab leak in Wuhan, China, the CIA now says
The CIA issued a new assessment this past week stating that the agency now favors the theory that the COVID-19 pandemic emerged from a wet market in Wuhan, China, due to an accidental leak at a research lab there.
The new report is based on “the available body of reporting,” although the other widely-held theory — that the virus emerged naturally — remains plausible, a spokesperson for the agency said.
